HOW TO COMMUTE IN ROMA
The subway lines in Rome are two: line A and line B. The ticket is the same as for the bus, but for the subway only one ride is allowed. If you stay for various days and you plan to commute frequently, .it is better and more convenient to purchase a weekly or a monthly fare ticket, if you stay for various days and you plan to commute frequently. Subway schedule: 5.30 - 23.30 (Saturday up to 0.30am) The Subway stations are the following: Line A: Battistini - Cornelia - Baldo degli Ubaldi - Valle Aurelia - Cipro (Musei Vaticani) - Ottaviano (San Pietro) -Lepanto - Flaminio (Piazza del Popolo) - Spagna (Piazza di Spagna) - Barberini (Fontana di Trevi) -Repubblica (Teatro dell'Opera) - Stazione FS Termini - Vittorio Emanuele - Manzoni (temporaneamente chiusa) - San Giovanni - Re di Roma - Ponte Lungo - Furio Camillo - Colli Albani - Arco di Travertino - Porta furba (quadraro) - Numidio Quadrato - Lucio Sestio - Giulio Agricola - Subaugusta - Cinecittà - Anagnina. Taxis
The taxis in Rome are white, and have the ID of the vehicle as well as the number of the main office on the door and have a ride-meter. Taxis can be called by using the following numbers: 06.88177 - 06.4994 - 06.3570 - 06.6645 - 06.4157 The main office will send to you the taxi and communicate the vehicle ID number so as to allow you to recognize the car. The fares, in accordance to Municipality's regulations, should be displayed inside of each taxi and are the following: Fare 1: Urban Unit every 141m for a speed superior to 20km/h, within 0.78 Euro/km. Fare 2: extra-urban out of the G.R.A (Rome road ring). Unit every 85.3m for a speed superior to 20km/h, 1 hour equal to 20.66 Euro Supplementary: luggage measuring more than (5X25X50) € 1,04.
BUSES AND STREETCARS
Ticket: 1 Euro (valid for 75 minutes) Ticket BIG: it is a ticket valid for a whole day (24h) for an unlimited number of rides within the Municipality of Rome. Price 4 Euro. In addition, it's possible to purchase tickets for tourist, visiting the city, for a limited validity of 3 day or one week, or a monthly ride ticket with a validity of 30 days.
